PLAIN CREAMED HONEY & SCONES
PLAIN CREAMED HONEY & SCONES
Product Description
This combination is a perfect celebration of the natural and man made wonders of food. Four of our light as a feather raisin dotted scones (individually wrapped) are offered with a jar of delicious spreadable plain creamed honey. Our scones have been a mainstay of our retail stores for decades and nare a day goes by that they are not on our shelf . These fragile fresh Scottish scones are a legacy of a Scottish baker who came our way in the 40's, 50's and 60's. This recipe has been faithfully repeated ever since Scotty made that first batch so long ago and has delighted countless generations of our neighbors. We have never enjoyed them more than when they have been warmed, split open and spread with our wonderfully spreadable creamed homey. Essentially creamed honey is crystalized honey. It is through a precise controlled process of heat, straining and whipping that it's remarkable and practical texture is created. It was first developed in central New York by Professor Dyce at Cornell University. Our creamed honey traces its source honey to clove, goldenrod and purple aster all are harvested in Western New York close to the original honey sources of Professor Dyce first used.
