Everyone, at this point, knows of the rich foods history that originated in Western New York. Certainly at the top of the list of Western New York world cuisine contributions are “Buffalo Chicken Wings” and “Beef On Weck”, both literally known around the world, but they are only two of the many cuisine contributions that have gone beyond our regions' borders.

The Di Camillo Family Bakery has, over their 103-year history, made their own contribution as well and has seen their nationally celebrated biscotti and Fig Cuccidati grace the shelves of luxury food retailers across the country. In fact, in 1979 we pioneered the national awareness of biscotti outside of their ethnic origins. (See our Blog post “Biscotti and Me”). It is, however, our hand-rolled, and hearth-baked loaves of Scaletta Bread that made us indispensable to our neighbors. To this day, it is the most requested item on our menu. We have, in the course of time, joined our neighbors and added other Western New York food customs to our menu: Peanut Stik Cake Donuts, Kummelweck Rolls and Sponge Candy. In addition, we have created many products that our neighbors, who have moved away, can’t seem to forget:  Scones, Placek, and Tea biscuits.
